Chute knife guard attachment?

I understand its slid down the blade and stops at two little nubs and is pinned and soldered, anyone have more details on how it was done? Seem like the underside of the guard is contoured to match the curve of the little stops for the guard but I'm not sure.

Appreciate any insight on this.

hi, the riccasso on the spine side is flat, on the edge side it is rounded. i round the riccasso with a file, and square one side of the guard slot also with a file. the guard slot is done on a milling machine. i put a filing guide on the blade when doing the rounded riccasso, so i do not mess up the square edge of the "stop".
