Hey all! Just finished up a new Cibolo Creek Hunter. It's much like my Verde Ranch Hunter, with a shorter 3" blade. Many hunters prefer a smaller blade, and I'm quickly starting to see why. The steel is Crucible's CPM M4, one of BladeSports competition kings. It has an excellent balance of hardness, toughness, and wear resistance that gives it amazing edge retention. I always use the Delta heat treat protocol on these tool steels for better apex stability over the industry standard heat treat. After "cryo" quench and triple tempers, hardness is 64HRC. The blade stock is thin, 3/32", and has a full flat grind with a very thin behind the edge geometry. Hand rubbed blade finish. Walnut handle with brass pins. It is super light due to the thin stock, skeletonized tang, and light handle material. Fits perfect in my hand and feels great with various grip styles. Sharpening was done on DMT diamond plates up to 1200 mesh, and then stropped on 1 micron diamond loaded leather. It is simply wicked sharp with a ton of bite to it. You do not wnat to test this by sliding your thumb down the apex! This is an excellent, classy looking, lightweight hunting knife that will disappear on your belt or in the bag.

OAL: 7 1/2"
Blade: 3"
Handle: 4 1/2"
Steel: Crucible CPM M4 64HRC
Handle: Walnut
Edge: 15° per side

Knife does come with kydex sheath. I make the sheath once the knife is purchased. Paypal preferred (samuraistuart@yahoo.com). Generally, the first person to send PP gets the knife. If you are interested, I recommend posting something like, "I'll take it! Funds sent." and sending payment immediately. No need to ask if it's still available. If there is ever a conflict, which hasn't happened yet, I will refund your PP immediately. I also take Venmo, DM me for the address, it's my wife's account and I forget the address. All knives come with free shiping in the USA and a lifetime unconditional warranty. I'll repair or replace, pretty much no matter what. Just understand that I like to use thin stock, thin grinds, and temper most steels for a slightly harder blade than you might be used to. I highly advise do not try to cut throught nails or stab a car door, things like that. Just use it to cut stuff, like it was intended. If you have any questions, send me an email or DM me. Email is same as the PP address. Thanks for looking!

Knife is sold. Thanks everyone!

Kevin W, I will try and keep that in mind. Lately it seems people are wanting the tool steels, so I've been concentrating on that lately.

Yeah, I can see that. I would take AEB-L over most of those any day of the week. Personal preference

Why is that?

For a deer/pig skinning knife, M4 has shown far better edge retention in the couple I used than the one example of AEB-L I used, which was little better than an average 440c. After one use, I gave it away. Maybe it was not a good example?

I do not cut bone, so edge retention matters far more than toughness for a skinner for the way I use them.

Fair question. As you point out personal preference and use case matter a lot. This knife in particular would probably be used for a little of everything on my end. Game, camping, mail, opening a bag of concrete... You get the idea. Plus most of my knives seem to end up in the kitchen for a while as well. So for me I would prefer a stainless that also is tough... AEBL has a fine grain structure and takes a nice edge. It is easy to sharpen, without diamond stones if need be. So for me, it is a great all around steel.

But honestly, anything from Stuart is going to be killer.
