Cigars and knives

Hmm, I enjoy a cigar now and then, but know very little, so I'll have to copy down some of these suggestions to try and to take to Blade '07.

I'll use the word "blade and INFI" so that I have some knife content in this post.

Is there a webiste out there with Blade 07 info? I actually did a search, and couldn't come up with anything. I think I might be wrong about the weekend, and might actually be able to get myself down there!

For inexpensive smokes, the JR Ultimates age nicely, and with a year or so in the humi, they smoke quite well. I am working my way through the last of the Oscuro (double maduro) belicosos right now. If you are a fan of the big, full bodied maduro, they are a nice box for under 100 bucks.

I just got an email from JR and they are offering $10 off per box of nearly all theiur sizes and styles. :D They must have known we were talking about them.

Ashton Aged Maduro Pyramid.

What Jesus would smoke, if he's into that sort of thing.

The only cigars I have had have been cut open and replaced with something grown a lot closer than cuba. The tobbaco leaves burn nice and slow and add a subtle flavour though.

I enjoy Mexican cigars -- forget the brand -- the area around Vera Cruz has been known for the quality of its tabac de sacerdotes (priest's tobacco)) for centuries. Of course, we can get genuine Cuban cigars, if you want to pay the exorbitant price in Canada.

Oh man!!!. . . Are you their marketing director???. . . 'cause I'm buying these babies as soon as I can find them!!!!. . . . If they smoke half as good as you make them sound, I'm in for the long haul!!!!. . . .

Jerry :D

Na, I was turned on to them a few years ago and thought I would pass along the favor. I copied it right from their advertisements on the web. As stated in one of the previous posts, these are a milder smoke. Like it says creamy. I see others listed that will pick up the slack if you like the stout ones.

Enjoy. I know you will.

Oh, man!
Life's too short for;
mild cigars
lite beer
tough steaks
short 4x4s
dull knives

You have hit my #1 hobby!

Keep in mind that the Butera cigars are quite mild. If you are a heavy smoker or often take in things that are not, shall we say, kind tothe palate (scotch, heavy cigars, etc), they may seem a tad under-powered. That said, I have heard nothing but good things about them. The Maduro line sounds great. If the quality is the same as the natural line, I will have to give them a try!

My current favorite smokes are the Padron 1964 maduro series, Partagas Serie P #2s, and Opus X/Anejo. Current short smokes (I have a 25 mintue commute) are Hemingway short stories with a few years of age on them, Partagas SHorts, Por Larranga Petite Corona, and Cohiba Siglo 1s. (tres petite corona). If I have the time, I enjoy the Partagas Lusitania (aged) ROmeo y Julietta Churchill (again, needs age), and the occasional custom rolled (Taboada...if this name means anything to you, you'll know why it's occasional) double robusto.

When smoking on my patio by myself relaxing, I have grown to be a big fan of thinner ring gauge cigars, through which I feel I can really engage the complexities of fine tobaccos. Opus X Lanceros (The "phantom": in the forbidden X), Cohiba Lanceros (with some age!), Trinidad Fundadores (smoking the last of my 1998s right now...mmmmm), and a few others, up to perhaps lonsdale in size.

I will trade fun and rare cigars for INFI. I am also available at any time for cigar consultations, and enjoy very little more than sharing cigars with friends both new and old. So, if anyone is ever around CT and wants to have a scotch, cigar, and INFI session, look me up.

Jerry, if we ever meet (which I damn hope we do!) I will supply the first couple rounds of scotch and cigars.

I definitely enjoy the Fuente Don Carlos Short Story. This is a wonderful smoke full of flavor for a quick pleasure.

My all time favorite is the FFOX (hint my avatar). The Petite Lanceros are awesome, to say the least. My ultimate fav is the FFOX #2, then the FFOX Double Corona. I bought several boxes of FFOXs prior to being introduced to INFI. Now I am really perplexed.:p

I'm also down for the Short Story's and Opus X's...but have been happy with various AVO's recently.

Oliva Serie G is a very good cigar. Edited to upgrade it. This is the fourth one I have had and they just get better as they smoke down to your teeth. I have to give this one a 93

Bringing it back for one of my new favorites: Montecristo Media Noche and you can get a decent assortment right now if you act quick!

And to keep it on track with Busse

Several months ago, I ordered some Monte Afrique's from JR's. I tried two when new - bleech! I just had one on Sunday - wow. Talk about improvement! A nice cigar of what I expect from Monte.

I've always had a soft spot for Peruvians too.
