Cigars

I smoke 1-3 cigars a week. My go to inexpensive one is the Bauza Pyramid, these are made by Fuente for Mike's Cigars. When I'm really wanting upscale, I keep the Don Carlos #2s on hand. Other than those I just have a random collection of Cubans and Fuentes.

For a cutter I use Dino and a Blazer Torch or good old "strike anywhere" matches to fire 'em up.

I just had one of the Nub maduros and it was very good. I was a little hesitant because there seems to be a lot of hype, but I was impressed.

Fuente has traditionally made very good cigars for their customers. Unfortunately, most are not the bargain they once were. Back in the day, you used to be able to get bundles of La Unicas for really cheap before the Cigar Mags started raving about them. Others have been very good, like Bauza, Montesino, Sosa, Licenciadoes, Ashton, Custa Rey, etc. A number of them have been considered "great undiscovered cigars" in their time, but not for long once the magazines get hold of them. I haven't had a Montesino in ages, but at one time, they were one of those cigars that was considered as good as some selling for twice the price.

I've heard of it, and I've tried it, but honestly I don't feel it differs much from lighting it with my Zippo. :o

I'm smoking a Black n Mild wine flavor cigar right now.

I love Rocky Patel, Indian Tabac, Carlos Torano, Punch (Especially Rare Corojo), Cuesta Rey, Onyx, C.A.O., Ashton, and afew others that escape me for now.

i mainly go for acids. so far i like the acid 1400cc the best. but i've always wanted to try a nub, but the local shops don't carry them. i have a feeling i might get some hatred for liking the "new age" cigar most. but i'll never forget my first, a romeo y julieta and i still have the tube.

The Drew Estate cigars I never got into. I think they are one of those love/hate things, but they taste like an expensive version of a Swisher Sweet to me. :barf:

I picked up a couple A. Fuente Anejos ad Opus X's when my local cigar shop had them in stock around Christmas time. I still have all of them left, minus one from each :D

They're great smokes but they're expensive. They're not the only rare cigars I have in the humidor at the moment, either :D

i smoke a lot of bands, mostly medium in strength, but i do smoke mild and full-bodied too...patel, punch, illusions, and toranos are some of my standards...fuentes are good but i just don't buy their line...i can smoke an acid once i awhile, but as a regular smoke absolutely no way...

Yea, I love Fuentes..... but sometimes they can get a bit pricey.... they're usually worth it to me though IMO.

I've never tried Acids...... I'll have to pick up two or three the next time I'm down at my smoke shop....... as far as Patels go, I love everything except the Renaissance line...... btw give Puros Indios a try if you get the chance, I've really been liking those.

On another note..... has anyone ever tried the CAO world sampler? I bought one last time and all four cigars were kinda dried out and tasted horrible...... every time I've bought them individually though they're great...... did I just get a bad sampler or have you guys had a similar experience?

I just tried an Acid Blondie after reading #34. Not bad at all.

Acids are more expensive Swisher Sweets. That sums it up.

CAO has had some consistency problems. It's a good idea to stick them in your humidor for 2-4 weeks to let them mellow out and balance out the humidity.

Thanks for the tip! Now I'll be smoking my two month old CAO MX2 Belicoso Maduro tomorrow evening!

Anyone have any thoughts on Ashton? I really dig their Virgin Sun Grown, but that's the only Ashton I've ever smoked....

The MX2 is a nice smoke. I find it's one of the few cigars that goes well with strong black coffee. And I don't even normally like coffee.

I never tried the Ashton line. Just not my thing. :)

I am a fan of these with the wood tip. As to regular cigars I do not smoke them much. I can not afford them like I can black and milds. But every once in awhile ill go to my local smoke shop and get a $10 or so cigar when I have extra cash.
