City EDC users, give me some ideas on what tasks your knives face on a regular basis

Since I've been in California I mostly use my pocket knives for gardening. I cut things like plant stems and I guess that's about it. I like to stab and cut up June Bugs as well. They're always trying to burrow into my plants root systems to lay eggs. Otherwise, it's the usual stuff, opening packages, envelopes, etc. I did build a figure four trap for my garden using my Vic Farmer and Cold Steel American Lawman. The lawman you might want to check out, it's not a delicate knife, but it is light weight, 3.5" blade, completely ambidextrous and well under $300. The blade is also quite wide and a nice high hollow grind. I would not call the steel (AUS8) top quality, but if all your cutting is paper, twine and plastic you'll pretty much only have to sharpen it once a year.

I'm a city-dweller, and on a typical day I use my pocket knife quite a bit. I work with my hands a lot of the time, though, so my situation might be a little different from that of your average metro-couchcommando.
