Hi folks,
I'm listing this M-1835/42 Civil War bayonet. These were manufactured during the early part of the American Civil War, for use on older muskets pressed into service as a result of equipment shortages.
More on these bayonets can be found here: Hardin's book "The American Bayonet" (#20, page 38) & Reilly's book "American Socket Bayonets and Scabbards" (B95, page 73). These are uncommon
bayonets because few survive, as most saw service throughout the war. This bayonet has been cleaned along the way. There is pitting and some staining, which I have been told is indicative of blood.
325.00 OBO. Low-ball offers will be politely ignored. Feel free to message with questions.
Thanks,
D
