Civivi knives.

I have a fixed blade Tamagotchi Tamashii that I like to EDC and that I feel is good value for the money. Pretty little thing, very well executed.

I'm not a big fan of them, although I've never tried out any of their titanium frame locks (or maybe that's WE). Owned a few Civivi's and the ones I handled felt fragile and lightly built. I also detest the branded pivots and would much prefer their logo on the blade itself. I've tried their liner locks and button locks, just not for me.

It's a shame really because I want to like them. The sheer amount of tooling they go through and new designs they produce, in the end they all look a bit "busy" for my taste (WE more so than Civivi). They clearly have the ingredients but they just aren't cooking with fire yet.

Some people love Civivi and I am not one of them. Their budget brand "sencut" feels better in hand to me than Civivi does.

I'm admittedly a fan of Civivi, they really provide a high value for a Chinese made knife. I've had enough models for myself or bought as gifts for others I've never seen a fault with them, great fit and finish and good edge geometry. Elementum is one knife that sold me on lightweight folders completely capable of larger tasks.

They're very high quality knives for relatively low prices. I have several folders and a couple fixed blades that have held up wonderfully. Their 14c28n and Nitro-V seem to have a solid heat treat and perform very well in use.

I like their utilitarian knives, indifferent on the artsy stuff. I wish they'd venture into larger fixed blade knives. They did a great job with the Terzuola Tamashii, and was hoping they'd have done more colabs with him. Solid value for the money.

I haven't used one, but they are being sold in Walmart now, right beside the Kershaw, bucks, crkt, and SAKs. So I'd imagine they are of similar quality and gaining traction as a brand

Excellent Chinese brand, overall finishes are flawless and prices remain affordable, I have several Civivi.

I have the Tamashii, too, and really like it. Apparently Terzuola refuses to have any more of his knives made in China or Russia.

IMO Civivi really shines with their fixed blades. I've had a couple of their folders and they're decent but I wasn't blown away by them. I think Twosun and Sixleaf do better in that price segment. But I also got a Civivi Kepler and Typhoeus and they're great.

I thought about buying one for hiking so I wouldn't be as sad if I lost it. I had been carrying a LW Tenacious that I bought used but on my last camping trip I carried a Rex45 LW Manix 2. At some point around my campsite I noticed it wasn't clipped on my pocket. I backtracked and found it laying on the ground. I think I had bent over and my camera strap hooked it and pulled it out. I would be sad if I lost a $30 Civivi but not as sad as losing a $140 Manix. When I first noticed Civivi they were touted as a good $30 Chinese brand but these days to buy one new seems to cost at least twice that much. I guess all prices have gone up but it seems to me that they are pricing themselves out of their own market. But if you want a fancy knife with G10 or CF scales they are still a lot less than a similar knife from Benchmade or Spyderco.

I have a couple; a Praxis and a Backlash.
They're good knives for the price.
Very very slicy.

I bought them thinking they'd get used in situations where I might lose a knife. But they haven't actually been carried/used much because I prefer other (more expensive) knives I own. I have recommended them to people on a budget.

Thanks all. My work said no more autos so I need a folder, moderately priced that will take a beating. I think I'll order one and see how it gos. I need to be able to sharpen it pretty easily. I'm just getting good at that

Have you seen their fairwind or whatever?

Cloud peak.(I was close)

I have a few as the sit at about my budget for knives. The vision and the utility knife are really nice.

I might get their straight up monster of a folding kitchen knife next. As I like a bit of bush cooking.

(Hey civivi. Pick a harder avocado for your demonstration next time)
