Civivi knives.

Thanks all. My work said no more autos so I need a folder, moderately priced that will take a beating. I think I'll order one and see how it gos. I need to be able to sharpen it pretty easily. I'm just getting good at that
The utility knife is pretty sexy for a work knife. And of course you sharpen it by replacing the blade.

Otherwise
For me for work I want a knife that flicks open and closed fast. That way I can cut my thing and then launch it back in to my pocket. So I don't leave it lying around.

I have the Tamashii, too, and really like it. Apparently Terzuola refuses to have any more of his knives made in China or Russia.

IMO Civivi really shines with their fixed blades. I've had a couple of their folders and they're decent but I wasn't blown away by them. I think Twosun and Sixleaf do better in that price segment. But I also got a Civivi Kepler and Typhoeus and they're great.

Thanks for that. I was wondering why they weren't chasing after Terzuola to design more for them given the success of the Tamashii. And agreed on the fixed blades, they're really great.

Have you seen their fairwind or whatever?

Cloud peak.(I was close)

Yep. It's on my list, but I want to try and handle them in person to decide if I like the micarta or wood better in person.

I'd love to see them try something like a big bowie or similar. I know its a limited market, but it's also kinda open for a great mid-priced, but high value company to step into.

If you want options in near the same price range but US made check the Buck Sprint lineup, or old fashioned Buck 110. Buck's 420hc can take a beating and sharpening is easy.

They are super nice, a lot of them have pretty slicey hollow grinds. I have also been surprised with the heat treats on them, I have a vagabond in 9cr and it's kepts it's edge surprisingly well. Their micarta also seems to punch above it's weight for the price.

I wish I could figure out pictures. My current EDC is a buck 110 auto. Work hates it. Great knife, but the auto version really hates a dirty pocket.

Too heavy without a sheath. 🤣
Ah, yup. It definitely lets you know it's there. That, and a full auto 110 needs the whole pocket to it's self. Car keys for instance will deployment the blade in ones pocket. It gets sporty trying to remove a deployed, stupid shart buck 110 from your pocket.
