So I got one of these and I am not impressed with the fake Micarta. It is super hard and slick. Very slippery to hold on to.

Sometimes CIVIVI has pulled this fake Micarta off on their budget knives, but not this time.

I just bought the foil G10 model and I love it. I'll have to see about pics later. I don't usually go for glittery eye catching but this one did it for me for some reason. No blade wiggle wobble. Came crazy sharp. Much more enjoyable blade and handle length than the original. As said above it's not a grippy texture but it's also not slick either; it's somewhere in the middle ground like the usual mostly polished G10 is. And I'm sure they do this to show off the foil pattern in the G10 or it would muddy up the view. Bottom line, I like it but I won't say it's for everyone. But I would buy again if I lost it so I hope it stays in production.

I don’t think it’s actually fake (may be). Just a lower quality not as fuzzy micarta. With use it’ll gain a bit of grip naturally just from the oils off your skin and grit and grime.

SO many near-identical cross-bar lock options that are better, IMO.

I do like the shape but I've read civivi runs their 14c28 a bit soft. The micarta can be quickly roughed up with low-grit sandpaper
