I already have the Appalachian Drifter II, with the front flip and liner lock, and I like it, too. But the Gent is, to me, the marriage of a 112 Ranger (but a bit smaller), a Lanny's clip (at the back), and a modern non-threatening design. I'm not a big pocket clip guy, so I will probably grab the original Drifter, too. All three are beautiful. Hoping to find more Gents out there. Thanks for the reply!I love the rustic gent as well. If it’s the handle and blade shape you like, but don’t mind trading the back lock for a double detent, the Appalachian Drifter series has a very similar quality in hand.
Just so you’re aware there appears to be a fault with the backspacer / spring back lock with the Rustic Gent. I’ve repaired several already and have two more to go. This part has broken on several of our customers knives even when they were not being usedI've bought 12 CIVIVI folders over the last few weeks, and the Rustic Gent is by far my favorite. Yes, I love all the flippy stuff on the other knives, but this is just an instant classic.
Sadly, I am seeing it listed as discontinued on BladeHQ, but not on Knife Center. I would love to get more variations, so I am hoping it is not discontinued. Can you clarify whether or not the model is still in production, or which variations are still available, if any? This knife is truly perfection, so I hope it hasn't been discontinued. Thanks!
Good to know. Thanks!
WE knife just sent us 5 of those back spacers as replacement parts. Rather than buy extra knives you could request some spares from WE. It would be cheaper.Good to know. Thanks!
As it is a discontinued knife, should I endeavor to acquire a couple replacement parts just in case? Is that even possible? I've been carrying a 110/112 for most of my life until recently, and a lot of this is new to me. Thanks again!
Thanks! I agree, it seems like they set out to make a more modern/gentleman version of the 112 Ranger. Same clip point blade shape, but a smaller and more contoured handle with a bit of a Lanny's butt on it. Feels great in my hand even though I usually like a chonky, heavier handle. Still love and carry my 112, but this will be great for more formal carry. An elegant and non-threatening look.WE knife just sent us 5 of those back spacers as replacement parts. I think its a great knife myself. Its a perfect modern replacement for the old style pen knives made by Case, Buck and Old Timer. Not that those knives are bad.
