With copper pins. If you look closely at the last picture, you can faintly see the outline of one.

I wondered as well how you fastened the copper. In theory they should solder as you might handle a metal guard. I also work with metal as handle material. I do a lot of lost wax casting. Looks like this was machined or worked not cast? Has good lines good look to it. Very nice style you have. Miles
