Check out the new manual action Brend model 2 from Cutters Knife&Tool. You get several options including Black Diamond coating by Bodycote, or this one (my favorite) carbon fiber inlays and a hand rubbed satin finish. Methinks CK&T has got something going here!

I just received my manual Brend from CK&T yesterday. I have the same handle that is on the D/A's. It has the satin finish as well. I am looking forward to the handle options as well as the Brend hand ground blade. This is a great knife for the money.

Check with Patrick at www.s4supply.com for more info and all the options available. Cost is below a Sebenza.

Here are some more pics showing the different options.....

This one looks like a winner. Love that Brend grind!

I wonder what the action is like on the manual version?

The DA version I had for a while, actually two hours, was as smooth as a baby's butt in the manual mode and I suspect the manual actions will be comparable. That cf version has got my eye's as wide as teacup saucers!!

I just sent my D/A in last week which they received Friday. I am having all the hardware polished, and in fact now that I saw the options list for the manual I will call them tomorrow, and see if I can get the blade satinized, and carbon fiber scales to dress it up even more.
I only had it for less than a week but after many recylings while watching TV, etc. that knife is as smooth as any custom knife I have in my collection. With the bronze bearings, and the many cyclings pf opening/closing it is still smooth(actually smoother), and tight as it was from new. There is no blade play in either vertical or horizontal, and I mean I have cycled that thing hundreds of times since getting it being retired I have plenty of time to play :)
Looking forward to getting it back.

Since getting it became one of my EDC companions.
Just my .02 cents rounded off to a buck :D

I wonder if there's savings in just getting the basic manual version? Anyone know the cost?

Since I cannot carry an auto legally, I have dispensed with every auto I ever bought. And this one looks like it wants to be carried.

I really want one, The new models are really nice. They are currently out of my price range right now though :(

That CF looks schweeet!! I don't know if they can do it to the D/A or not though, not with the button there. Too bad they can't make it a scale release. :(

I asked the rep at the Shot Show why they didn't make the button hidden, and he basically said they didn't feel a need for a covert release. Too bad huh?

They still look great though, let us know how it goes Larry.

Just got off the phone with Tom who does most of the machine work, assembly, and is owner of the company as you know, and unfortunately the only thing I can get done is polishing the hardware. Them being a small 3 man shop to do options on already built knives would take too much time when they have all the others to make as well. Also they are not doing any options on the D/A as yet, just the manual, and they have to be ordered with the options listed before assembly. Doing carbon fiber scales on the D/A handles is not possible with all the milling that would have to be done would make them too thin. As far as satin finish the blade it is also too time consuming, and would have to be relazered on the blade, etc. Only other thing the whole blade would have to be replaced, and still relazer with the correct serial number, etc.
But later down the road he said they will offer the D/A's with options but not til they get all caught up with the manuals, and can offer them.
Now with the "bodycote" option there has been some problems there that have to be worked out so all and all I will have to happy with the knife th way it is other than the polished hardware until such a time they offer the options on the D/A then would have to order a complete new knife.
Oh well I tried :)
I have no complaints on the knife as it is in workmanship, quality, etc. just wanted to dress it up more. Still one heck of a knife!!
If anyone is thinking of getting one I highly reccommend them though as the one I got from you is getting smoother, and smoother, and action is great.
Sorry to make this so long but wanted to give ya the whole scoop as I know it.

Do you know if this company is still in business? I can't find anything on them. I am a bit late to the game, though...

Thanks!
