The CKCA holds their Annual Banquet/Meeting each year on Thursday night before the start of Blade Show at at Maggiano's Little Italy right across from the Waverly Hotel-Cobb Galleria.

Last year we had about 60 members in attendance had a great meal and a great time. We conduct a little business (very little :o), introduce our annual cancer research benefit knife, and conduct a mini-knife show.

Each year seven of our member makers create a special knife and offer it to CKCA members via the box draw system. It works out well as it gives our member makers a chance show their great talent and meet and get to know collectors who they may not get to meet otherwise. It gives our member collectors a chance to meet and visit with makers and perhaps get a very special knife that they may never get otherwise.

Our seven makers for 2010 are:

Bruce Bump
Pete Crowl
Tom Ferry
Don Fogg
John Horrigan
Steven Rapp
Ralph Richards

The seven knives created by these makers along with our annual cancer research benefit knife are delivered to Chuck Ward for photography by April 15, so I would like to share them with you as they are photographed.

Both of those are beautiful. I'm really drawn to that folder though. Its not the usual for my taste but I love tree frogs and that steel.

As usual I'm never early with mine but its "In the mail" to Chuck for the photo. Its a slip joint 2 blade trapper. My first with damascus blades. I think it came out pretty nice and is numbered 014 as its the fourteenth slip joint I've made so far.

I think it came out pretty freakin' awesome. Consider my name in the hat on that one.

That is beautiful work from Bruce. It makes me want to start a slippie collection...

:eek:Awesome knives!!

Wait until the John Horrigan Bowie goes up. It's one of the most substantial forged creations I have seen. Presentation Bowie, matching leather/silver tip and throat sheath, custom-made mesquite display box and custom leather sheath. Anyone who is not familiar with John Horrigan and his incredible talent as a knifemaker, engraver, sheathmaker is especially in for a treat.

Our seven member makers have really gone "ALL Out" to make these very special knives for our show while keeping the prices very reasonable for CKCA members as all four knives currently shown are offered for under $1000.

Still to come, in addition to the John Horrigan's Bowie, Don Fogg and Steven Rapp's creations.

Man every one of these knives is just awesome! Pete, gettin' fancy with the damascus and embellishments, and his characteristically great leather work. Bruce, gorgeous stag and exceptional feather pattern on those blades. Nice and clean too, Bravo! Tom, that engraving is flat out gorgeous - what can't you do? And Ralph, that bowie is SLICK! Pointy, fast, and beautiful.

Can't wait to see the rest!

You're right Wolf, Pete does do VERY nice sheath work, however that's a Paul Long sheath.
And you have a good eye. I have Ralph's Bowie in my possession and at almost 16" long it's incredibly well balanced and extremely fast in hand.

Didn't even notice that - thanks for correcting me Kevin. That crosshatch motif is actually quite similar to the sheathwork Pete does. Awesome leatherwork indeed, credit where it is due.
