Our Seventh Annual CKCA Mini-Knife Show will take place on Thursday Night June 4th as part of our Banquet/Annual Meeting. That's the night before the start of Blade Show. You won't want to miss this.

Announcing our Knifemakers for this year's CKCA Mini-Show:

Karl Andersen JS - Hunter

Bing Bingenheimer JS - Folder

JR Cook MS - Bowie/Fighter

Haley DesRosiers JS - Deluxe Hunter

Dave Lisch JS - Bowie/Fighter

Sam Lurquin JS - Tactical Fighter

Johnny Stout - Fancy Folder

Our paramount goals for our CKCA Mini-Show are:

To give our CKCA membership the opportunity to purchase very special knives at attractive prices from some of the finest knifemakers in the world who they normally may not have access to.

To give CKCA member knifemakers a chance to meet and present your knives to some of the top custom knife collectors in the world and perhaps to gain new longtime customers.

To give the CKCA another opportunity to offer benefit to both our collector and knifemaker members and to positively promote the CKCA in the custom knife community.

And now for the knives (pricing for the knives is available on the CKCA forum):

Beautiful stuff! Got a sneak preview of Bing's...would love to own it.

I don't have the skills to make custom knives but wanted to contribute something to the CKCA banquet that both makers and collectors might appreciate. I discussed with Kevin making a couple of knife display cases to give away as door prizes during the banquet. He asked me to post a few WIP photos.
The first is curly Walnut with Wenge trim and the other is Genuine Mahogany with the same trim. Both will have Brusso machined brass hinges and foam inserts with slots to display folders on one side and flat for fixed blades on the other. Still have to complete the finishing work, install hinges and glass but they are almost complete.

That is sweet Mark and the size looks just right for a little Vest pocket Bowie

A very attractive package, IMO.

BTW, please pardon my ignorance, but can anyone here explain what is meant by "Museum Fit Mammoth Ivory?" I can understand "museum quality" but never heard "Museum Fit" before.

TIA

Those are both extraordinary knives!!

"Fit" for a museum piece, is how I understand the phrase??

Ken, museum fit is 'proud' fit as opposed to a flush fit. I've heard it called a bull nose as well. It will tend to mask any movement in the handle material.

Mark, Your art is museum worthy. What a great way to show off the great knives We will certainly be looking over these at the show.

I thought the same thing. Those Mammoth scales are fitted with such precision that they appear to be poured on.

Both are beautiful but that Mahogany one really does it for me. Nice work Mark and VERY GENERIOUS.

Both folders are beautifully done. The display cases are nice too. Theres going to be some very happy people at the banquet again this year.

man is that ever sweet! I'm totally digging the blasted zirc, holds up really well and makes for some good traction.

Regretfully I shall not travel to the USA this time and shall miss the banquet :(
and the BLADE Show...

But I shall contribute a copy of my latest book to be raffled among those
lucky to be present at the banquet!

Have a great evening!!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)
