CKG 2009 Show Review...140+ pics!

I couldn't make it to the show this year. After seeing this review, I am absolutely determined not to miss it next year. Great job RL.

All the best,

- Mike

Thanks for the great pics and review Robert i hoped to make it down this year and meet all the folks but had to work so maybe next year.

Bob

Thanks all.

Glad you enjoyed it Lorien...I agree that things are picking up in Canada...we have some really talented makers here, they are getting more and more collaborations with production companies (increasing their profile) and the CKG is heading in the right direction. Hopefully you can make it out to the next one!

Big thanks again to Robert for taking the time and effort to bring this show in such superb detail to those who could not attend.

His enthusiasm for all knives, tactical and otherwise, is a testament to his unwavering support for all genres of knives and his devotion to the knife industry as a whole.

Once again, well done Robert and thanks for all your hard work.

Agreed!

Good to see everyone again this year!

I always anxiously await your show reviews!! It is almost like being there!! Thank you for the awesome review. There were some awesome knives there. THANK YOU so much for your time and efforts!!

Congrats on the Honorary membership!

The Memorial to Holger brought tears to my eyes.

My impression was one of a very successful show. Personal favourites included several pieces by David Sylvester, a terrific pair of Harley-chain damascus bowies by Paul Savage, the pearl-inlayed folder by Kirby and a terrific damascus folder by Brian Thie. Hats off to all involved.

Also, Robert is down over 50 pounds since last year- well done....

Neil

I thought so Neil... that's a hell of an accomplishment! As a former personal trainer that's one of the few things I actually know about :) Great job Robert!

Wish I could make it sometime- maybe one day I'll be there behind a table!

Thank you for the review- it seems like the only show that gets no coverage from any magazine.

Thanks all...its funny to get thanked for my "work" and "effort"....these reviews are fun to do :)

Great review.

I finally made it to the show ( Sunday afternoon) I had a goal in mind, to get my son who is graduating from univ. this year ( ecology ) a grad. present. As he is a fishing machine, I finally settled on a walrus ivory handled fillet knife by Ed McRae. You can see it in the picture RL posted.

Lots of great stuff, I know I'll be saving up my pennies for next year!
