from what I've seen to purchase (commercial grade) clam knifes...The edge looks like a chisel...single grind...Is that the best edge profile to use on a small clam knife?..the one I'm planning will have a blade under 3 inches with a rounded tip..I have two really nice 13 inch long SS planer blades just about 5/8" wide 1/8 " thick...I've been saving this material & this looks like a perfect fit for this application.....Oh, The handle is going to be some leftover one inch Sq. turning stock from cocobolo fly fishing reel seats..The stock is 30 years old & has darkened to nice deep brown color with some great grain showing...I'll use SS pin stock & super glue finish...thanks in advance for any help or suggestions....mike in ct
