I don't know how many of you have done business with Clarence Risner. I just got an e-mail from his grandson Austin telling me that he passed yesterday.
I've done business with him in the past and thought he was a good guy to deal with.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Clarence has been a good friend for many years. A straight shooting dealer every time
RIP my Friend :sorrow:

Dave

I bought a number of my S&M's from him. He was a pleasure to deal with.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I don't mean disrespect to Clarence - could someone tell me more about him please and his involvement in the knife World.

Many thanks.

Long term and comprehensive knife-dealer, particularly Queen and Schatt.

He was personally very friendly and accomodating to me on e-mail when I wanted to get hold of particular Schatt knives. He had no problem with dealing with customers like myself, outside the US, nor did he charge huge postal fees. I regret to hear of his death, respects to his family.

Regards, Will

I just purchased my first knife from his sight yesterday. So sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace.

Shoot. Sad to hear and condolences.
Still have some of his Buck Creek Indian head knives.

I learned quite a bit about ordering special knives from the factories from Clarence! We were partners in my first order - some Harness Jacks from Queen, branded "Schatt and Morgan". He gave me a kick-start into the business.
Thanks, Clarence!
Rest in Peace!!

I have dealt with him often in the past and always got a fair deal. Sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace.

Very sorry to hear about this. I visited his Schatt & Morgan site many, many times. Prayers for his family.

I met Clarence and Austin a couple of years ago at Knife Days. Clarence and I were looking at a pair of barlows I wanted to buy. He saw an imperfection in one of them that I didn't notice, he insisted on finding a better example for me. That's a stand up guy!

Sad to hear, the older I get them more evident the "circle of life" becomes. I'm fortunate to have five of his SFO's. They are some of my favorites.
