Clarification about Esee 4 product codes

Hi guys,

I need some help with Esee 4 product codes.

I sent them an email in the morning, but this might be something more people will ask.
Will update the thread if I receive a response from them.

I'm looking to get:
- Black plain edge
- Black kydex sheath
- Clip plate

On Esee's website it's written that black blades ship with brown molded sheaths:

Black Blades Ship With Coyote Brown Sheath.
...
ESEE-4P and ESEE-4S part #s include molded sheathing, clip plate, paracord and cord lock (no MOLLE back).

However, I saw a lot of black PE blades online with a black kydex sheath.

Is this new? Do all new Esee 4s ship with coyote brown molded sheaths?
If not, do you know which product code corresponds with what I listed above?

I could be wrong but I do not believe an Esee is a traditional. You may have better luck in general discussion.

Thanks for heads up and I apologize if I made a mistake!

I thought this was the right one because it says "Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades". Esee 4 is a fixed blade.

They recently switched from kydex sheaths for the -4 to injection molded, like what comes with -3 or the -6. You can't get a newer production black blade with a black sheath. I imagine you would need to order the black sheath separately if that is what you want.

Thanks! This makes sense; I remember reading a while back that molded sheaths should be expensive to setup, and that's why not all Esee models have them.

Just got a response from Esee; they say that the black sheath is still available, but as injection molded sheath.

Correct product code for what I wrote above would be: ESEE-4P-B.

That's good to know. I was under the impression that only certain blade colors came with it and black wasn't one of them. Thanks for the update!

Sure. That's what I would also say based on their website.
They said that a lot of people still asked for a black sheath, and that's why they added it again.
