Clarification concerning the Exchange "BTT Rule", please...

The 72 hours starts from the time of your last post in that thread.

It doesn't make as much sense this way, IMO, but if that's the rule then I'm OK with it.

This BTT thing is really getting on my nerves

It's like this.

There shouldn't be any chatter in the for sale threads. None. If people are asking questions, the OP should be answering them. If someone calls dibs, they OP can choose to respond or no, but if someone is calling dibs then the OP doesn't need to bump the thread anymore, right? If someone has called it, and backs out, then the OP announcing it's back up for grabs, which doesn't have the BTT rule apply anyhow.

Past this, there shouldn't be much discussion on the topic. The OP should be getting the last word regardless; they should be answering any questions that come up. If threads are getting a lot of chatter, the Mods should lock them down and issue infractions. I just clicked through a bunch of for sale threads with multiple replies and I'm not seeing much abuse going on, so it appears that our current rules are working pretty well.

So, yes, bumps should only be 72 hours from the last post in the thread. That was my mistake. Price drops and additional pics & more info being added should, when possible, be edited into the OP, but do not count against the BTT time limit.

Thanks, Spark. I'll stick to what I've been doing, which is in line with your original ruling & clarification. :)
