Very nice! The guard really helps to set off the blade. As nice as this one is, I can't help but picture it with a damascus guard and a blackwood handle. That would be sweet.
Let's see; how can I find a way to buy this knife? I dont have any more spare kidneys, and the local sperm banks wont let me donate anymore. Something about too many little Danbos running around already!
Now THATS a purdy knife!!... I like that so very much. Nice shape, excellent fit and those spacers really adds to the harmony. The Hamon is really nice!
Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate the kind words!
Someone had asked what I meant by a lack of hamon action in the photo (via email).
In the photo you see a black line snaking up the edge...in hand that line is actually pearly white with a huge amount of cross-hatches in cloud form surrounding it.
The hard edge is nearly mirror polished and the back is a soft, satin grey.
Since it took me about 4 days to get that finish, it sorta sucks it doesn't show in a pic... But it's really there, I promise
Nick, could you please give the dimensions of this knife. There is something about the symmetry of this knife that really sticks in my mind. This knife has perfect balance between blade and handle length in my opinion. The hamon is outstanding and the fantastic way you did the spacers on the guard leave me coveting this knife. Now, I wonder what it would look like with a stag handle?
