I'm not so sure that ax/hatchet tools are particularly American. However, I seems to recall that some specific ax/hatchet designs are in fact uniquely American. I suppose the tomahawk might claim a pretty distinctly American heritage, too. Any ax nuts out there willing to shed some light on this idea?
