Title says it all gentlemen! I'm basically looking for the classic "old fellas apple knife".

Needs to have:
1.Some type of wood in the handle
2. Preferred brass "fittings" not sure what they are called when referring to this type of knife.
3. Decent blade steel? If possible, you could also argue whether or not this is important when my only intention for the knife is fruit and veggies.

(I need to add it MUST be a folder)

Thanks in advanced BF community!

Ps: No price is too high..I believe in quality over quantities

I've advocated carbon steel for years, but for your use, stainless is probably the most practical.
You can spend $15 or $1500!
Do some more reading to inform your choice!

A paring knife. Shun classic (around $50) or Victorinox "little Vicky" w/ plastic handle and blade guard (around $5-9) If the plastic handle doesn't work for you, there are also more expensive paring knives from Victorinox with wooden handles. Opinel also has some paring knives with wooden handles.

Carbonsteel craftsman stock man. Brass bolsters and wood. Cheap at flea markets and such.

have you considered a slim trapper pattern style knife? perhaps the gec 48 weasel

The 48 weasel is very nice. 80 bucks is honestly what I was expecting too! Jack Black Jack Black which model is this? Though it seems the handle is a bit wide near the butt.

That's an Arthur Wright & Son Lambsfoot with ebony covers. They do the same blade in a parallel -sided frame too.

Opinel No. 7 SS.

Edit: I should have added some rationale. I don't think small knives are the best for apples. I prefer a blade long enough to completely slice the apple, but those who like to whittle down their apples might prefer a shorter blade. At just over 3", the convex ground blade on the 7 makes short work of apples and others foods. The Sandvik steel on the SS model is no super steel but is serviceable, or go with the carbon steel version. Either way the unique classic style will be a conversation starter, and perhaps best of all they are dirt cheap, but not cheaply made.

Alan, OP specified wood handle. Can you get that on a mini Copperlock?
As soon as I posted I started searching because they make so many variations I figured it had to be. But you're right, I haven't found any yet. Check that, they made it in Ebony for the Johnny Cash series but not sure if there is an unadorned one.
