Hello,

I just have been looking at the CR Knives, and I like a lot the Small Sebenzas. Looks like Chris delivery real good quality, support and service, so im going to get one. I was going to click the 'Order now' button, when carrot disturbed me as usally saying the Classic is better  Wich one do you like or do you think I should get? Im between the Classic and Reguar (Small), I was going to get the Regular because I think it does have a better grip/handle, but I like both.

Thanks,

Antonio

WOW--you are about to get a flood of answers. Everyone has an opinion and that should tell you something--they are both excellent.

As for mine, I am a fan of the classic. It is comfortable--easy to open--I find the small classic to be the perfect marriage of size and design.

I have a small classic. I handled both when I was buying mine and I just liked the classic better. When opened my index finger sits nicely in the curve and there is more room for my big thumb to use the thumb stud. I also prefer the look of the classic over the regular. Although the blade and handle shapes are slightly different there is not enough of a difference to impact my day to day use. Either one would be a fine choice. It really boils down to personal preference. I do suggest getting one with inlays if you have the extra cash. I have micarta inlays on mine. It adds some grip and enhances the look IMO.

Get a regular with some nice inlays...

Or a classic...

Or maybe a regular...

Or a classic with some nice inlays...

Get them all!:D

If you have beefy, strong man hands, then the Regular should be fine, but with my girly hands, I found the Classic easier to disengage the lock. Even still it's quite stiff. I ended up preferring the Mnandi, in the end, though.

I like my regular. It seems like you wanted the regular so go for that. Don't let someone else's preference sway you as this is a total opinion type of thing. I personally think the regular looks more cool and I do like the jimping on the lockbar area. To me, it is just as easy to open and close as the classic. Get the one that looks better to you and you will be satisfied either way.

I like Classic in large, and reg in small. They just seem perfect in my hand.

Don't forget to send that puppy to Tom's spa! (green smilie here because my phone will not post one)

i have had two classics, a large and a small. i did not buy them because i preferred then over the regular, it was just how it ended up. i like the looks of both. i am sure someday i will own a regular too. get whatever you want, they both are great. i am sure of that.

Thanks guys,

I got confused because carrot told me about the differences in the blade in both, and since Im unable to find any comparative pic of both, one near the other, im very confused. I like the handle of the regular, since I think it does have a better grip, but im not sure if the blade of the classic is more nice than the blade of the regular.

Btw, nice cockatiel Capt. Carl ;)

It does not matter which one you get. Because it is only a matter of time and you will have both.

Hello,

...Im between the Classic and Reguar (Small), I was going to get the Regular because I think it does have a better grip/handle, but I like both.

I EDC a small Sebbie much of the time., I've had both the classic and regular variants. The regular is the only one I kept. The small classics are just not comfortable for me to work with, esp if I'm doing some tougher cutting/whittling. Blade shape doesn't matter to me at all. My wife EDCs a small classic Sebbie and it cuts just as well as my regular.

My large Sebbie is a classic and that one feels fine, it's just the ergos with the small one that I didn't like. Love the looks of the classics, though.

Here we GO---again. REGULAR! But you can't make a bad choice here. Someone do a poll please.

I am sure you will be happy with either one. My EDC is a Lg. Reg. sebenza and the handle fits my large sasquatch hands very well.

uh huh, dragging me into this.

I'll tell you why I like the Small Classic best.

I like the pointier blade.
I like the way it fits my hand. The cutout seems to lock the knife into my grip.
The scallops on the Regular are pointy, and not quite as comfortable.
The simpler lines are more aesthetically pleasing to me.
The Small is enough for most tasks.

In the history of Sebenzas, Classic was the first type to be made. At some point the Regular pattern replaced the Classic design, but many customers wanted the Classic design back, so now CRK offers both.

If I were to buy a Large it'd probably be a Regular. The stouter blade seems to match my "idea" of what kind of knife the Large is, or perhaps its personality. But for me the Small Classic is where it's at.

FWIW, I have a small regular and a large classic. I prefer both the handle shape and the blade shape of the classic.

I had a large woodie regular, now I have a wood classic. I like the classic better. But they are both awesome. There is no bad choice. :)

+1 for me on the classic.

Carrot said exactly what I would have said, so I don't have to say it:

I like the pointier blade.
I like the way it fits my hand. The cutout seems to lock the knife into my grip.
The scallops on the Regular are pointy, and not quite as comfortable.
The simpler lines are more aesthetically pleasing to me.
The Small is enough for most tasks.

Im more confused now than a turtle in the Gobi's desert :foot::eek::)

Im unable to find a real big difference in both knives with the available pics, both seems to be the same >< Since I cant touch the knives before buying, is hard, but I know I will end buying both :D

If anybody can post a pic of both small's, one near the other, that would be great, one in the top and other under the other knife.
