After reading the thread about the Barlow in the traditional knife forum, I had to have one because it is a classic design. (I got the S&M Barlow from AG Russell, nice little knife). So, I got to thinking about things I purchased because I considered them classics.
A2 style leather flight jacket
Suede desert boots
S&W Revolver
What about you ladies and gentleman, what are some things you consider timeless classics?

I own quite a few stockman knives which I consider a classic knife pattern - elegant looking, totally functional and as useful today as it was 100 years ago, a true classic. Some others I own: Zippo lighter, white t-shirt (fashion classic since Brando and Dean), I love NY logo,
Some classics I WISHED I owned: Mont Blanc Pen, Rolex, Aston Martin DB7, 1911 style .45, Marcel Breuer chair

Some items which may, in time, become classics: Fisher Space pen?

One oxymoron that does drive me nuts is 'modern clasic'!!!

Great thread.

I own a Ford F150 truck. I own blue jeans. I own several 1911 pistols. I have owned Buck 110's in the past. I pretty much live in crappy black T-shirts, just as I did when I rode with a club.

Mechanical pocket watch, carbon Opinel, Acme whistles (bobby and pea), fountain pen, Clarke penny whistle, Marine Band harmonica, Converse basketball shoes, wood pencil, panama hat, gotta stop or I´ll go on forever, ...

Buck 110, Old Timer stockman, Zippo, 1965 Plymouth Valiant with factory V8 and center mounted shifter (no slant6/ pushbutton tranny), 1965 VW (in the midst of a complete front end rebuild by yours truly), SAKs, Case Bowie that might be older than I am. It should be interesting to see what is called classic in another 20-30 years.

I sometimes write C code on a UNIX system. (At least it's not COBOL.)

Zippo and Imco lighters (and I don't even smoke!!), Opinels, SAKs.
Do "real" tools like Vise-Grip and Channel-lock pliers count? (I have some Facom locking pliers too. Very nice.)

Someday I'll get an old-fashioned 3-speed bike. For now I have the Trek hybrid and Specialized mountain bike.

Am getting around to carving out a Greenland style kayak paddle.

Mechanical Hanhartt stopwatch
Mars light bar with soupcans
Federal 4 Bulb beacons with built in siren speaker
3 speed "English" bicycles: Raleigh, Dunelt
