Claudio and Ariel Sobral - CAS - Collection 14.04.2014 - more individual images added

Excellent collection Alex. My favorite is the Damascus Bowie, it is a beauty.

Awesome collection Alex!!

Those are just beautiful knives!! I have one of his blades and love it completely.....congrats on a great collection!!!

Hello!

Thanks for looking in and your kind comments, guys! :)

Greg, one thing I am amazed at, time and time again, is that I have yet to think of a style of knife Claudio would not want to tackle! ;)

Best regards,
Alex

PS: hope that I'll find the time to finally shoot proper images of the few knives I didn't allready cover after returning from the easter vacation next week...

Hello!

Here's one shot I took of the newest addition before leaving for the easter holidays that shows how nicely the sheath is done. It's the sheats that complete the whole package, in my opinion! :)

And some older shots - one of my absolute favourites, the Bowie that took 2nd place in last years Bladeforums Bowie-Competition:

To show the size of that mighty beast, next to some (production) samples:

Couldn't locate any old sizing reference shots for this one atm...

More (better) studio shots will follow once I am home again.

Alex

Man, tremedous shots of great CAS knives! It's very cool to see that little piece of mine sitting next to that big Persian Sobral! Thanks for showing that.
By the way, have you taken any solo shots of that double keyhole piece? I would LOVE to get a copy of the file(s) if you have...

My gosh Alex. I realize that this is what you "do" .... but oh do I wish my "best" attempts at photographing my knives were even 1/100th as good as your "quick snaps!" That CAS collection is phenomenal!

You're too kind Salem, Thanks man! :)

Looking forward to your photos Alex. You have skills and a very nice collection!

Alex, I have no words my friend .. just thank you for all this, you are very generous to us.
Happy Easter to you and your entire family, have a good holiday.

Thank you very much to all for the kind comments
Claudio

These Three are amazing!

Hello!

Thank you for looking in and commenting, guys!

I really can't say enough good things about Claudio and his brothers - I have never had more fun working on new projects with any maker!

Jim, the solo-imgs will take a while, but I'll do my best not to let you wait too long! :)

To begin with, the one that started it all was a Khukuri Set in the trademark Sobral San-Mai Style with great Amboyna-burl handles. We decided to do two smaller blades that sit in the same sheath as does the Main Khukuri (images of the sheathed blades will follow). Really turned out a striking package. Also, did I mention that it is really a blast working with Claudio? ;)

(a shot by Ariel that shows Claudio forging the main Khukuri)

Here's how it turned out (sans sheath):

How this set came to life and the quality of it really got me hooked - we talked a lot afterwards and I consider the Sobrals very good friends allthough we have not met face to face yet. We are still trying to find time for the many projects we came up with in the following months btw... ;)

More images will follow.

Thank you again for your interest!

Best regards,
Alex

PS: Hallo David! Great to see you! I'm sorry for not getting back at you so far... it's been a busy week. I'll be in touch later tonight.

PPS: Sorry, Dave! :o :D ;)
