Up for sale is a beautiful knife by Claudio Sobral. I purchased this knife directly from Claudio. The forged San Mai blade is 9.5 inches and the handle is approx. 5.25 inches. This is the same as the Black Bull but as Claudio used a neat piece of red burl amboyna he called it the Red Bull. The wood has a lot of burl to it. Included is a great tooled sheath made by his brother. The blade is a beast but balances very well in the hand. The shaping on the handle makes it really comfortable. The knife is mint and unused. Priced below original cost at SOLD shipped to you. This is a great deal for a beautiful knife from a very talented maker.

Very beautiful knife!! Can I ask what steel was used to forge it and is it a Damascus or is that the Hammond I'm seeing?

It is a San Mai blade. 3 layers of steel.

This is from the CAS website:
They have preference for San Mai technique, is very attractive both esthetically and functionally: the softer inox blade sides combine with a hard center making for a very tough blade, while the carbon edges show a “hammon like” dark contrast very attractive to the eye. Besides, about 80% of the blade is stainless.
