claw-like blade grinding

I've recently tried my hand at a knife with a claw-like curve (i.e. with the edge with a concave line) but I've found it exceedingly difficult to grind. How do you grind such an edge? I use a 200 mm wheel.

You have to do the grind on the corner of the belt. That is the only way you can follow the inside curve. This is true for hollow and flat grinds.
Thanks,
Del

Sanding drum on a drill press. Half round file with emerypaper wrapped around, and small diameter idler wheel used as the contact wheel have worked for me on small radius curves.

Grind it sideways. Side of blade towards the flat of a small contact wheel follow the spine curve.
Be Careful!
Chisel grind is the easiest.

I used the edge of the rotary platen for a small convex grind claw I ground last summer. Wasn't too hard.
