clean belts

I was told today by on of my older co workers of a cheap trick on cleaning your belts.
He says that he uses a old rubber shoe sole to clean his belts. Just grinds away with it remove all build up and the rubber falls to the floor.

Yea, Zipp I use a big piece of rubber I found at a garage sale to un-clog belts when I'm sanding wood, micarta...extends belt life pretty good!!!

Zipp. I tried your suggestion, cleaned up my belt, but two of my toes are bleeding!
