Ok. So I found myself in a situation today at work that required some INFI assistance. Was in a tight spot with a wide load tractor trailer hauling 10' 6" barges double stacked on a low-bow trailer. Long story short, I had to put this trailer in a spot where the tractor was going to be scrarched up pretty bad by some crape myrtle trees.....so I grabbed a hold of this chance to demonstrate some INFI carnage and jump out of the truck like a wild-man with my DC BB TG14' and go to town. Well, wiped it down after a few minutes of swinging and the sap seemed to stay. Got home and used Froglube and Ballistol and this is what still remains. Any help to get it out? I was gunna just beat the crap out of it later but for now I'd like to get it off if I can.

Try Spray-Nine, Simple Green, or any other good cleaner like that and a nylon brush. That's always removed most every stain I've gotten on any of my DC blades.

Ok....wow! Had spray 9 here at the house, can't believe it was that fast! All gone. Wasn't worried about it cuz it is a user...but most of the time Ballistol works great...this time it didn't penetrate the sap at all, stubborn tree I guess?

I also recommend acetone, but it is probably a good idea to keep it off of the grips!
Acetone evaporates quickly and is highly flammable, so maybe do it outside or at least in an area with good ventilation.

Edit: I just saw you got it removed, that's good!

Yup, sure is Brandon. My favorite dude. And after using it...wow...chops and bites much better than my TGLB.

I use to have access to a bead blast cabinet. I could return my knives back to perfect condition in about 5 minutes. This knife is one of the ones I used a lot and I maintained it by hitting it with the bb using 320 grit. I no longer have access to a bb. oh well.

I gotta get one of those....or a 13asic 13? In DCBB...now that would be sweet! I just love the handles on that SHBM Cobalt, looks like they make chopping a ton easier.

Think about it, those original SHBM's are still going strong 16 years later. Resinguy currently owns this one. I wish I still had it, because I am greedy

Yea, I agree. Maybe they will be part of that Boomerang dream Jerry had?

I scotch bright mine but then they look like satin finish :)

That one is staying. You want the Fatty BBSHBM back?

He doesn't want that old thing. I'll take it if you're getting rid of it. I'm helpful like that. :D

I usually give it a good rub with isopropanol or acetone and that takes care of most things for me :)
