To be honest, I wasn't worried about the knife, I was more concerned about getting it off because I didn't want to sheath it with the sap on it. Got a nice new Condos leather sheath I wanna keep nice inside and out. Didn't want remnants of dried sap in it ya know.

Flitz polish has worked well in the past for me cleaning stained knives.

Honestly I just use hot water, Dawn, and a brush. Just make sure you rinse it thoroughly and dry it... the hot water will get the metal nice and hot which will help evaporate the water away quickly so it doesn't rust.

Think about it, those original SHBM's are still going strong 16 years later. Resinguy currently owns this one. I wish I still had it, because I am greedy

I could be off on the year, but it was well before 1999. I paid $297 sheath included. I moved in 1998 and had it before I moved.
