Cleaning fur?

I have a "heated bunny hat" that is in need of a cleaning, I'm wondering if you guys know of any home remedies for cleaning fur? I'll take it in somewhere if I need to, but I'd rather DIY it.

YOu can rub corn meal into fur to remove grease and dirt. Just shake it out afterwards. A mail-order taxidermy class taught me that one.
