Hey, guys.

I finally found my dad's old Eye Brand trapper, which is good. The bad part is that it was in a very humid environment, so it's in rough shape. There's a fair amount of rust on the backsprings, both inside and out, some rust on the blades, the stag seems kinda dried out, and there's a lot of verdigris on the bolsters, shield, and pins.

I plan to soak it in mineral oil for a bit to try and get the scales back to where they should be, but do y'all have any suggestions as to the rest of it? If it'd help I can take a picture and post it.

Thanks a lot,

James

Mineral oil and elbow grease should do a pretty good job on the rest of the knife as well. Please, whatever you do, don't use a Brillo pad or something similar.
Greg.

Lord, no. No Brillo pads. How long should I leave it to soak?
