Cleaning my stone?

Another stupid question. When cleaning you stone...if I use regular old honing oil.....do I just clean it with soap and water? Do you clean it everytime you use it? It is just a Smith triple stone system. Is this one okay?

I use kerosene to clean my oilstones, it works nicely.

Soap and water has always worked just fine for me.

This will be the fastest most effective way. Knifenut knows.
