Throwing stuff is fun.. but sometimes it just doesn't hold up. Cheap kitchen cleaver I convexed both sides and an old frost cutlery bowie I had from 13 years ago. The handles flew off the frost cutlery after about 10 throws, this picture is about after 50 throws each. They aren't looking so hot anymore. I'm gonna miss that cleaver, had a good day with it, that last throw was hard to sink though.

We need some INFI throwers... :D

That definately looks like some bood on that cleaver. And no that is definately not Infi. Sounds/looks like you had some fun 230.

I think there may have been some alcoholic beverages involved here. And alot of laughing, looks like fun to me. :D:D:thumbup:

You should see the edge I put on that cleaver, I ground it paper thin, probably 5 degrees per side with a 30 grit belt then polished it up.. It completely flattened by tapping it against wood. I had the blade so hot it was visibly burnt and smoking.. Good times!. Had to thicken it up.

Throwing knives is very hard on them. In my youth, I broke many knives. Most knives designed for throwing and pretty soft or tempered like a spring.

I imagine that INFI would hold up very well, mostly because the blades are pretty thick, but why would you want to throw a $300 knife?

You can get a set of 3 SOG throwing knives for about $50.

Colbalt, could probably answer that one he used to throw SHBM's all the time.

CS makes some nice throwing knives and they are not expensive.

I throw two CS knives. One, a modded GI tanto that I ground the Top guard off I have been throwing for about 7 years (I think, I got one of the first releases).

Still have not been able to break it. I have bounced that sucker off big rocks, concrete (My throwing target was right up against a concrete retaining wall, not too much damage, actually).

I also throw a CS Pro flight thrower, rifleman and norse hawk, and one of their poll axes mounted on a pick handle.

a stack of 4x4' held together on the back by 2x4's and some screws.

More entertaining than most things.

I throw rocks, they are cheaper and I don't have to go and get them after I throw them.

Or ONE sog knife that broke in half after the 10th throw for over 100 dollars :D

I could have told you that would happen. Stainless knives don't, for the most part handle throwing very well.

I have broken quite a few "decent" knives over the years.

I knew it was going to break, I didn't really care. Ran out of stuff to throw, my friend threw an 8 lb maul at our target with one of the axes in it and the handle snapped in half, and the hawk is getting beat bad with the handle splitting. Now i'm going through my "I don't care about" knife pile.

cool stuff.

I've thrown my .32 ASH a couple of hundred times at least. the scales took a few nicks, and I scratched the INFI once when it bounced off some rocks and into a curb. all in all, though, it's handled it really well. I've been many things, but being delicate with it isn't one... and I'm even more of a believer in the tube rivets and INFI because of it all.
