Clearly not INFI.

Longer and heavier will usually make for a decent thrower. B lade heavy or handle heavy will simply change the spin a bit. One of my oldest throwers is a WWII bayonete with a 12 inch handle. Been throwing that one for a bit over 20 years.

Handle heavy actually makes them easier for no spin throwing though.

Thanks for the tips bro!

As to Infi throwers. I dunno, it seems there is an inherent conscience in the warranty Busse offers. I don't think they could offer it if people started throwing knives at block and concrete walls and then sending the knives in to be resharpened or have the inevitably bent tips fixed. This would, in fact, be inevitable. Example:

"I took my "Infi-nite" thrower and threw it at the concrete wall, and it died:("

People are free to do that now, and the warranty is not going anywhere.

I don't think Busse will make a dedicated thrower, since it would be expensive, throwers are not usually good knives for cutting chores, and many Busses throw well as it is.

Well, you're right of course. However, there is logic in my reasoning. If Busse users took it to another level, Busse might not make the same overhead anymore. Despite the hard use reputation, there is another level there it could escalate to. And despite what some people "feel" they're running a business and ultimately in it for the money (and passion of being a self employed knife-maker yes yes). They make what they think are sound decisions. Why haven't they released a thrower yet? I'm sure they considered it. There must be a reason.

Simple. . . People are not going to want to pay the price of a Battle Mistress for a throwing knife, which is only good for that purpose. They will just buy a Battle Mistress and throw it instead.

Perhaps. Whatever the case, your avatar freaks me out.

I have not thrown my wife's N.I.C.K.

I have not thrown either my Bear Cub, or my Culti.

I have a dozen or so, knives made for throwing.

The big advantage to INFI as throwers, it that you are carrying the knife anyway, and can take the time to get good with it.(a manly way to pass time in camp or during a break from hunting or hiking.)

Throwing 4 or 5 older knives can get odd when you hit a one of three hundred SHBM with another big knife, or you miss a stick and the knife skitters off into the rocks.

Easier now that the values(resale) are down as much as they are.

Throwing is prolly my favorite way to dull a Busse knife.

My Daddy in-law is no longer willing to throw them with me since I told him the value of the knives.

Once you start gaining skills, throwing different size and weight knives from the same spot will fine tune your skill set, also having some one else handing you knives to throw as you walk around the yard.

Varying distance with the same knife is a good start.

Rebar makes good Torpedo throwers.

Heat and Beat both ends and leave the center soft.

"It is, however an old design since the designer is dead, and for all I know the copyright has lapsed. Doesn't make it right."

I think maybe it does make it right. Even if the aspect of the design used by CS is copyrightable, which I highly doubt, I have a serious problem with extending monopolies after death. Would you really prefer that the design simply be lost forever? Or maybe you just really admire the original designer and hate Cold Steel?

I can at least understand the feeling there. CS' marketing is kind of offensive and their service...well I'm still waiting for a call back after 2 weeks of calling so, yeah. I wouldn't particularly like the idea of something I created going to that kind of company either, but if gets some kid and his dad into knife throwing because they could afford the product, isn't there some honor in that?

Just please don't foster the idea that we cherish people and their ideas by boxing up their art after they've gone instead of copying and benefiting from their legacy.

My SHBM is a fun throw, though I am not very skilled at it.
