Cleaver, 5160 steel, hemp wrap handle [SOLD]

Medium size cleaver, forged from 5160 bar.

Forged closest to shape with minimum grinding, wet forged and wire brushed after forging.
Clean bevels with just few tiny forging marks. Tapered tang and distal taper towards the tip.
Rounded back and heel for more comfortable grip.
After heat treatment, flats and bevels are brushed with scotch brite.

Handle material: Hemp wrap soaked in epoxy resin.

No sheath included, but i can make one for extra fee.

Overall length - 15"
Blade length -8,5"
Blade width - 3,2" (middle part of the blade)
Thickness -15/64" at the touchmark
Distal taper towards the tip, thickness at the tip is 13/64"
Tang tapers to 8/64"
Cleaver weights 25,6oz

I have a small one with this handle wrap and one this size with walnut scales. You can’t go wrong with Daado’s cleavers. I processed some whole chickens with my small one on Sunday. Wonderful!!!

Yes, it is .
In my opinion, it's a perfect size / handle material combo for working "all around" cleaver.
Not too heavy and thin enough for chopping and cutting.
Hemp wrap handle wont get slippery from fat or blood, it's waterproof and it's looking cool on forged blade.
It's really fun to work with.
