Cleaver folding knives

I like the look, but I'm mostly a mall ninja. Here are some of my cleaver style and razor style which is kind of the same thing.

I have a Stovepipe and rather enjoy it. It cuts like a wharncliff. Otherwise it’s a style choice. It’s plenty functional. Folks act like clever blades aren’t capable for daily chores, which is baffling. It’s a knife… take it out of your pocket, cut whatever needs cutting, fold it and stow it back in your pocket. We’re not designing the Hadron Collider here, it’s a tool. It’s not my daily carry but when I’m feeling the need for something unique, it’s rather enjoyable.

I like how the edge is thin all the way to the end, similar to a razor. I find them pretty good at slicing. I have a flatiron as well and I feel like it is a well designed knife.

I thought these were dumb. Then Kizer offered their Sheepdog in a special Halloween version. It looked it would be a fun novelty carry for late October. How bad could it be?

Well, it turned out to be awesome. Using the flipper tab to throw out that big rectangle of steel is fun. That's pretty much it. Otherwise, cutting performance isn't much different than a sheepsfoot or some other blade shapes. It'll handle lots of different sorts of EDC tasks.

It is a different, unusual look, unlike most commonly carried knives.

Reminds me of a Higonokami on steroids.

In use they are like any other knife. I regularly use a CJRB Crag, and it is a fun knife to open and use. Definitely not for breaking bones in half but good enough at regular cutting tasks, piercing etc.
