Cleaver Friction Folder with Pocket Clip
$150 Shipped CONUS
Up for your consideration is a custom friction folder. Here are the vitals: The business end is 1095 Hi-Carbon Steel heat treated and tempered to 60-61 Rockwell and featuring a full flat grind in cleaver style with a convex secondary bevel The blade measures 2" and ~1/8" thick at the spine. Overall length is 7" open and 4.5" closed, weighing in at 3.4 ounces. The frame is quilted maple over and a black g10 spacer to set off the brass liners, pins and pivot. The silky-smooth action is accomplished with phosphor-bronze bushings and an adjustable 3/32" pivot stud allowing easy one-handed opening and closing. When closed, the hardened tang functions as a bottle opener, non-lethal personal defense weapon, or even to break glass in an emergency. The pocket clip is hung for a tip-up, right pocket carry, adding assurance against unintentional open in the pocket by tucking the blade in the corner of the pocket. This blade profile is fantastic for most light to medium duty tasks; able to slice 10 oz. leather in almost "translucent" micro-thin pieces as well as fine carving and food preparation tasks. A dependable EDC that will serve you well for many years.
