Cliff Bar volentary recall

Wow. I almost bought a case yesterday at the local "buy three gross and save" store. Thanks.

I mean its not all Cliff Bars. Looks like just the ones with peanuts:
On January 19, 2009, we announced a voluntary recall of 14 U.S and 4 Canadian products including CLIF Bar, CLIF Builder’s, CLIF MOJO, CLIF Kid Organic ZBaR and LUNA Bar, in the U.S. and Canada because the peanut butter in those products was sourced, for a limited period of time, from the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). PCA is a manufacturer and supplier of peanut butter for many food companies and manufacturers.

Don't get me started on Clif Bars...Two summers ago I worked at a distribution center for Amazon.com, and quite a bit of my time was spent stacking those suckers on shelves. Those things are HEAVY!!

I saw on the news about the Salmonella thing, though...kinda sucks, cause lots of people enjoy peanut butter. :(

I subsist on Skippy peanut butter. I have since I was a kid. I think I've lost eight pounds since all this salmonella business started:grumpy: Matter of fact, I'm hungry right this minute. I think I'll go make a peanut butter saaAAAAUUUGGGHHH. Actually, the regular store bought jars of peanut butter are supposed to be safe. But I did just eat a Cliff Bar. I think it was one on the list. :( Suddenly, I don't feel so well.........:barf::barf:

:D

BTW, that stuff I said about the peanut butter is true. I eat it just about everyday. -DT

 Thanks for the heads up ZipTrickHead. I have Clifbars that I keep with my BOB and at the hunting ranch. I just checked my stock at home and am OK. The next time I go up to the ranch I will see what is stored there.

If anyone is thinking of not taking this seriously, I looked at the recall notice and it says that salmonella can give you endocarditis. I got endocarditis a few years ago in Germany and it took the heroic efforts of some great German heart surgeons to save my life. Look over what you have and toss out what is suspected to have been contaminated. Getting a heart infection is no way to die, especially for something as easily as preventable as throwing away bad food.
