I know it all depends on the style of knife but what do you think is the more popular style, clip point or drop point? If you had 2 identical knives and one was clip and one was drop,,, Or is this an impossible question?

I prefer the look of a drop point on any smaller knife over a clip. In the case of bowies, I prefer a subtle clip. I've never been a fan of the exaggerated clips you find on some bowies/knives. Too stylized for my taste. Can't say what is more popular, just giving my opinion.

I remember a knife that G.L.Drew made for himself . A drop point with a subtle clip . It has it's purpose and I liked it . Combinations can be interesting .

I think many people find drop points more utilitarian. Most of the time if I make and try to sell a drop and a clip of basicly the same design the drop will sell first. Actually with the exception of large knives I have a hard time selling clip points but thats just me. I do know that I read (in Blade I think) that drop points are the most purchased blade shape.

I think the drop point. Gotta go clip on larger knives. My most popular fighter has a long clip on a 6" blade.

Here's a knife with a clip, albeit a long one.

Here's basically the same knife, with a drop.

I do mostly drops, as that's what appeals to me, but both of those knives sold.

I feel for a good hunting knife the clip would be the best choice for a good gutting. Though as I say that I carry a drop point when deer hunting. I do however find it way better to use a clip point for skinning coyotes.
Well if that made any sense.
