Can somebody explain to me the pros and cons on tip down carry or the opposite please?

I'm thinking of altering the position of my clip, so are there dangers:confused:

No real "dangers" assuming you have the clip set up properly (i.e., for tip up the blade should be facing the back edge of the pocket). Other than that, it is honestly more personal preference than anything else. I use both, and I now find myself mostly preferring tip-up.

In my opinion (for what that's worth  ) tip up limits my carry options a bit. I often carry a knife in the front corner of my back pocket, where for a tip up knife there is nothing to hold it closed other than whatever bias is built in. For a lockback, that is no big deal, but for a liner lock, ball lock or even a compression lock, there is simply not enough closing bias for my peace of mind. I have had a tip up liner lock open in my pocket, with bloody results

As a result of those experiences, I prefer tip down carry whenever possible. I should point out that my knives are working tools. Self defense is not even a consideration in what, where or how I carry. A tenth of a second more or less on deployment means absolutely nothing to me.

Tip up liner lock opening in your pocket?? Aaaarrrghh! I'm leaving that clip where it IS!

Don't be afraid to change it up. I carry all of my spidies tip down, I just like them that way. I also carry a BM940 there is no choice for an AXIS lock (tip up)

Try it different ways, you may like the change. If not, put it back the way it was.
