Kile, get back in the shop and lets see something. I was going to try and make it to the gun/knife show up there this weekend but just can't make it. Gordon Harlow (my old next door neighbro) will be there with Keith Phillips again. Gordon has something like 50 knives ready to go. I have maybe 7 or 8. I'm going to the scrapyard today to start picking up metal for my hydrolic press. I have the other parts here or on order so I should be able to get my press up and running in a month or so. Then you need to come down for the weekend and we'll knock out a bunch of damascus and forge till we get nose bleeds.
Kile, I appreciate the offer but there's not much to really do right now. I pick up the steel tommorrow and then drop it off at the weldors. I'm going to have him do the critical welds on the main frame and drill the big holes like the 1" holes through 3" of steel.
then I'll take it home finish the non-critical welds for the motor and pump mounts, etc. I just feel better having a pro do the welds to hold 24 tons of pressure together.
I'm still waiting on the motor to ship. It got back ordered until the 12th. Once I get the motor, pump and tank set, I'll have to order the hoses to length and plumb it up. When it's done and broken in, plan on coming down for the weekend and we'll send you home with a bunch of damascus.
