Modern knives sport clips, some fancy, some not so well done. Now the ones that I like are those that use screws coming up through the scale and into the bottom of the clip attaching point, so on the outside the view of the clip is smooth and uninterrupted, classy looking. Which can be a little harder if you wanted to switch sides, if the knife has that option, but once changed you don't have to mess with it again.

This Artisan is one such folder that has this type of clip, very sleek looking

I've seen some very high priced folders that didn't have this feature, to me when they pull down prices that exceed $1k I think that there should be a little more thought into those clips, but, that's just me.

as this Arno Bernard folder also has the hidden screws for the clip, again, nicely done guys

So, lets hear about your favourite type of clips??

I love 3D milled pocket clips.

Like the ones Andre Thornburn uses.

However, a good spring clip like the ones Tom Mayo uses functions perfectly.

To each their own though. I am currently carrying no clip on a new concept handle and a fixed blade with an Ulti Clip.

I see you got your iMamba. How are you liking it?

It depends. I do like the sculpted clips, and I don't want to have to take apart a knife to tighten or re-position it, but then there are some knives that rarely have to be taken apart or don't have any other mounting options, so it's cool to have the clip screwed in from the inside of the frame (like this $50 Two Sun)

Also, some knives are built such that the clip needs to be screwed in from the outside.

Hidden hardware is a nice touch, and to me it demonstrates that the clip isn't just an afterthought and if the "small" details are taken into account that the overall design of the knife was likely carefully designed.

One thing I will say is, though I am not really a fan of deep carry clips; ProTech (and others do them right), I can't stand deep carry with proud screws, they are pant pocket destroyers.

Reminds me of the Gerber lst clips

Hidden clips like on Lionsteel's Thrill and ROK models look intriguing, though I've yet to handle or own one.
To me, the ROK clip felt kinda cheap and had a lot of play, plus it was an extra bit to think about every time you went to put the knife up. Interesting idea for sure, just not as well executed as I had hoped once I got it in hand.

Feedback much appreciated.

My Indiana Knives EDZs have clips like that, screwed into a recess in the handle. But the clips are too tight to be usable on my shorts. If I bent them, they would look not so classy.

I got a stainless steel, dangly-earring wire from my wife, cut off a piece, and shaped it to fit around the two screws in the recess. Now the clip works just right.
