I guess you need to use a resist on the edge of the blade when using bleach and bluing to age a blade. I am afraid it will eat the edge away if I don't. What is the best thing to use for a resist to keep it from eating the edge?

Thanks,

Doug

Fingernail polish is what I use as a resist when using a bleach & bluing finish. I normally do it before the initial edge is put on the knife and it can be sharpened out.

What Alan said^^^.... any critical surface pivot hole, lock face etc.

IIRC, Sharpie is enough. But do test that theory before you use it on a blade you care about! :D
