African Blackwood or Mpingo (Dalbergia melanoxylon) native to seasonally dry regions of Africa from Senegal east to Eritrea and south to the Transvaal in South Africa.
African Blackwood is one of the extra hard, extra heavy woods. As with many of the super dense woods there may be some small hairline checks that are an easy fix with a little CA glue. African Blackwood is a good substitute for ebony because it is not as brittle but still has the good dark colors. While mostly black there will be some dark chocolate brown mixed in.
If you would like the blocks you get from this thread stabilized, I can send them with my next batch to K&G for an extra $5 each. Turnaround time is about 2 weeks from when they receive them. I will be sending batches to K&G for stabilizing every week or so.
If you would like your blocks cut into scales I can do that at no charge.
US Shipping is $2.50 for 1 block or free if you get 2 or more. Canada Shipping is $10 for up to 3 blocks. The rest of the world is $12 for up to 3 blocks. My address to make payment through paypal is itsaburl@hotmail.com.
When you decide which blocks you want, just post "I'll take #s ......" and I will mark them sold for you. Be sure to note in your post if you want them stabilized or cut into scales.
These blocks come with a No questions asked, Money back guarantee.
