Both of these are new woods for me to use. Really nice stuff. A local woodworker who makes high end boxes is selling off his collection of exotic woods because of cancer. Last night I went out and bought about $1000 worth of pieces that looked good to me. This is the start of what I got. The wood was marked in chalk when when he purchased it. These were marked with dates in the mid 80s. They have been stored indoors in a workshop that looked more like a showroom.
The first pieces are nicely figured Bubinga from Africa. Hard and heavy as a rock.
This is what Wikipedia says about bubinga;
The genus is well-known for its luxury timbers. The best-known timber is bubinga (Guibourtia demeusei, aka kevazingo).
Bubinga is sometimes used in the production of archery bows, in particular as the main wood of the handle in some flat bows.
Bubinga often has an appearance similar to the mineral tiger eye. Light brown through dark brown and red, some samples show as almost purple.
Luxury car maker Lexus also makes use of the wood in their luxury vehicles.
The second group is Australian Lacewood. Medium hardness close to big leaf maple. On the internet I find conflicting information and photos. In direct comparison it is a little harder than sycamore. The background is darker than the flecks, which is the reverse of sycamore with the background lighter than the flecks. I think it is cool stuff.

We are so sure you will love this wood that it comes with a No Questions Asked, Money Back Guarantee.
The wood looks better in person than it does in my crummy photos.

When you decide which blocks you want, just post "I'll take #s ......" and I will mark them sold for you. Be sure to note in your post if you want them stabilized or cut into scales.
