I am supposed to be cutting blocks, but......I cut these and thought they were pretty nice so I had to post a few for you guys.
These are Pacific Madrone Burl. In Canada they call it Arbutus, In Washington they call it Madrona. The tourists tend to call it "that orange peely bark tree". It is pretty tough stuff. The primary commercial use of Madrone is for hardwood floors.
This is natural wood, it has not been stabilized. I got this wood from a supplier who processes the wood by pressure cooking and slow drying in a humidity added environment. This helps to prevent the extreme movement that usually happens when drying Madrone. These blocks are dry and will be ready to use after you allow them a little time to adapt to your climate.
These pieces have been sanded to 120 grit and sprayed with a light coat of lacquer for a bit of added protection. You should give them at least a month or more to settle to your climate before using.

If you need your blocks cut into scales, I can do that for you at no charge. I normally cut scales about 3/8 thick unless requested otherwise. If you need scales cut please indicate that in your post.
