This thread is sort of a test for me. Things have slowed down a bit for me so this is how I will be able to tell if people just aren't buying supplies right now, or maybe I have just been listing the wrong woods. The scales in this thread are all really nice stuff that I am pricing way lower than what they would normally sell for. If most of these sell in the next day or so I will know I have just been listing the wrong woods. If they don't sell I will know that my timing is off. Then I will back off from listing as much wood for a while and focus on getting things ready for the coming Knife show in Boise.

We are so sure you will love this wood that it comes with a No Questions Asked, Money Back Guarantee.
The wood looks a bit darker in real life. Sunlight caused a bit of glare in the photos.

US Shipping is $2.50 for 1 set or free if you get 2 or more. Canada Shipping is $10 for up to 6 sets of scales. The rest of the world is $12 for up to 6 sets of scales. My address to make payment through paypal is itsaburl@hotmail.com.

When you decide which scales you want, just post "I'll take #s ......" and I will mark them sold for you.

The Ringed Gidgee from Australia is a desert Acacia. Hard and heavy as ironwood. It is in the same family (Acacia) as Koa, hence the familiar looking figure.

The Tasmanian Blackwood is another Acacia that grows on the Island of Tasmania. Nearly identical to Hawaiian Koa.

These are all old pieces that are dry, flat and ready to use.

Hey Mark, I know the Gidgee doesn't need to be stabilized but what about the Tasmanian Blackwood?

BTW guys I got mine today and this is awesome stuff especially at this price.

The blackwood will be a lot like koa. It goes about 50/50 on opinions whether to stabilize. I would not stabilize these scales because as thin as they are they would probably warp when the stabilizing heat cure takes place. I would use them on a light or medium duty knife. Sand real fine and do an oil finish and it will look like a gemstone when you are done.
