This thread has been closed now. These have been sold and shipped. Thanks everyone.
If I was only allowed one type of wood to work with I think it would probably be redwood. There is a big variety of looks and the wood has a nice metallic shimmer. Plus it's affordable too. Some of the redwood pieces can look a lot like amboyna and thuya burl at a fraction of the price.
These scales were all professionally stabilized by K&G (Knife and Gun Finishing Supply) out of Arizona. They have a special formula they use with redwood that keeps the colors vivid and enhances the flash of the figure. I used to do my own stabilizing, but now everything gets sent to K&G for stabilizing instead.
These all come with a No Questions Asked, Money Back Guarantee.
US shipping is $2.50 for 1 set of scales, free if you get 2 or more. International Shipping is $12 for up to 3 sets of scales. Free International Shipping if you purchase 4 sets of scales from this thread.
When you decide which scales you want, just post "I'll take #s....." and I will mark them sold for you. Our address to make payment through Paypal is itsaburl@hotmail.com This batch is also posted on Knife Dogs so if you see ones you want don't wait. Who ever says I'll take it first gets them. Most of my wood will be posted only here on Blade Forums but I try to post a few on Knife Dogs as well.
These scales have been sanded to 60 grit on the backs and 220 grit on the fronts. The grain and figure will become much more defined when you fine sand and polish them.
