Sunspot Kirinite scale for Zero Tolerance 0550
This was my first experiment with kirinite. The scale looks great but was over sanded in a couple spots and the countersinks aren't perfect. Marked as a blem on underside and priced accordingly.

Are you able to make kevlar or carbon fiber scales for a domino?

Im not working with those materials at this time, but Shepardcc should be able to help you out. He's been doing some great work with carbon fiber.

Those wood scales are beautiful. Almost makes me want to buy a Domino.
Have you made any wood 0550 scales?

Would that Kirinite be at least at tough as G10?

Love that design.Looks like hunter orange with a blood vein ™.:cool:

They call that color "pearl sunburst", but hunter orange with a blood vein is better!

According to one very well known knifemaker, Kirinite is not as tough as G10 or micarta, but tougher than any other acrylic his team has experienced.
The dealer touts it as being as strong as corian, if that helps.

Thank you for the reference Spketch :) I love the work you do with wood. When people ask about wood I send them your way.

Kirinite is not that tough at all. It's pretty to look at but I wouldn't use it on anything heavy duty. Mostly show and light edc.

It's interesting because every material is different. Has its different quirks and special needs.

Keep up the great work ;)
I would love to see you do some African Blackwood or Arizona ironwood or aged Grey wood on a Spyderco Gayle Bradley
